Dr. Ryan Kilmer Receives 2016 Provost’s Faculty Award for Community Engagement
October 6, 2016
At the Provost's Awards Reception on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, Dr. Ryan Kilmer, Professor in the Department of Psychology, was presented with the 2016 Provost’s Faculty Award for Community Engagement.  Over his 17 years of conducting community-based research at UNC Charlotte, Dr. Kilmer has focused on factors influencing the development of children at-risk for emotional, behavioral, and/or academic difficulties, particularly children’s resilience and adjustment to trauma; and the use of evaluative research to guide system change, program refinement, service delivery, and policy.

OASES Receives 2016 Provost’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Academic Advising

The Provost’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Academic Advising is presented annually to an advising center, department, program, or unit that demonstrates a sustained and collective responsibility among faculty and staff to assist students in achieving their educational goals.  At the Provost's Awards Reception on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, The Office of Adult Students and Evening Services (OASES) was presented with the 2016 award.

Department of Psychology Receives 2016 Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching

The Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching is granted annually to an academic department, office, or program in recognition of the collective responsibility of faculty members for maintaining high-quality teaching, and to acknowledge documented efforts that improve student learning and outcomes.  At the Provost's Awards Reception on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, the Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences was presented with the 2016 award.

Harriet Hobbs
Harriet Hobbs joins the Office of Assessment and Accreditation
September 13, 2016
Harriet Hobbs is the new Director of Academic Program Review and General Education Assessment.  She joins the Office of Assessment and Accreditation.  Harriet is responsible for assisting faculty and staff in implementing, analyzing, and documenting assessment processes and procedures in order to demonstrate the quality and viability of its programs and/or services.  She will also collaborate with faculty and staff in the design and implementation of the General Education assessment process.

Matthew Davies
Dr. Matthew Davies Receives Bank of America Award for Teaching Excellence
September 12, 2016
Matthew Davies, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science, is the 2016 recipient of the Bank of America Award for Teaching Excellence, one of the University’s most prestigious honors for faculty members.  He received the award during a special ceremony on Friday, September 9, at Hilton Charlotte Center City.
