DSI Welcomes New Directors
February 6, 2017
The Data Science Initiative (DSI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Yaorong Ge and Dr. Michael Thompson as Faculty Directors for the Data Science Initiatives’ academic programs. In their roles, they will oversee the ongoing revision and implementation of the Data Science and Business Analytics and the Health Informatics curricula. In addition, they will manage the growing interdisciplinary partnerships between the Belk College of Business, the College of Computing and Informatics, College of Health and Human Services, and the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.

Weekly News Digest
January 10, 2017
This week, the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) introduced its first weekly News Digest.  It was sent via email on Monday, January 9, 2017, to all Academic Affairs Faculty and Staff.   The hope is to reduce inbox clutter and increase readership of important information.  The weekly digest will include a compilation of information from departments and units in the division and will replace the individual emails sent from the Office of Academic Affairs email account.

Charlotte Research Scholars - Call for Faculty-Submitted Research Projects
January 4, 2017
Sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs, the Charlotte Research Institute, the Duke Endowment Special Initiatives Fund, and the Graduate School, the CRS provides funding to participate in a mentored, 10-week summer research experience to 60 UNC Charlotte students each summer. The program also includes weekly professional development training.
